It has been 11 months since the State of Georgia started being affected by coronavirus.
Here is a look at the numbers for the Lake Area over the past 11 months, along with some more recent data.
Overall, Baldwin, Greene, Hancock, Morgan and Putnam Counties have had 243 coronavirus-related deaths.
18 of those in the past two weeks. There have also been 450 new COVID-19 cases reported in the Lake Area in the past two weeks.

In the past 11 months, 79 deaths have been connected to Lake Area nursing homes and long-term care facilities. There have been total of 757 COVID-19 cases in those places.

The Lake Area’s local state prison facilities have also been hit hard. 251 inmates and staffers have tested positive for COVID-19 at Baldwin State Prison, Hancock State Prison and Riverbend Correctional. 5 inmates have died.

Two other state-related Lake Area facilities have been hit hard.
Bostick Nursing Center in Milledgeville has had 12 residents die. A total of 91 staffers and residents have tested positive for COVID-19.
Central State Hospital in Milledgeville has had two 2 staffers and 1 resident die. A total of 222 have tested positive for COVID-19.
