Former Morgan County School System Superintendent Dr. Stan DeJarnett has been appointed by Governor Brian Kemp as the 10th Congressional District Representative on the State Board of Education.
The 10th Congressional District includes the Lake Area.
He served as superintendent from 2006-2011. After leaving the school system, DeJarnett served for eight years as the Executive Director for the Georgia School Boards Association’s Georgia Vision Project.
Dr. DeJarnett lives in Madison with his wife, Kaye.
He replaces Lee Anne Cowart, who had served on the State School Board since 2017, when she was appointed by Governor Nathan Deal.
