A lake area charity worker was recognized by Congressman Jody Hice (R-Ga) for her tireless work on behalf of domestic violence victims.
Kimberly Bennett, executive director of Circle of Love Center (COLC) in Greensboro was given the Hice Headliner Award in recognition of her work with residents in five counties.
“In the two-and-half years that Kimberly has led the organization, she has added new staff positions and provided additional services, such as resume assistance, transportation to and from jobs, and ensuring the availability of psychiatric care,” said Congressman Hice. “She has successfully secured essential grants and donations that have been used to build an outside pavilion, a flower garden, an urban vegetable garden, and an athletics court for the kids. These quality-of-life enhancements help families heal in a safe environment and encourage children to engage in outside activities and healthy exercise. Soon, local Boy Scouts will install a new playground, and Kimberly’s next project is to add a Teen Space to the facility.
