Georgia College in Milledgeville is one step closer to getting a new President.
The University System of Georgia has named Cathy Cox as the only finalist for the job.
She is the Dean of Mercer University’s School of Law and a former Georgia Secretary of State.
She has been at Mercer for the past four years. Before that, she was the President of Young Harris College for 10 years, along with serving two terms as Secretary of State.
The University System of Georgia’s Board of Regents still has to approve the move. Their next scheduled meeting is September 9th.
