The GBI is investigating the death of a Milledgeville woman in the Baldwin County Jail.
Sheriff Bill Massee tells us he was called out to the jail Sunday evening after 55-year-old Tracy McCook was found dead.
Sheriff Massee believes McCook took her own life. McCook was being kept in isolation because of cold-like symptoms.
Massee says McCook had been taken to the hospital on Friday. Her body has been taken to the GBI Crime Lab for an autopsy.
Massee says McCook was in the jail after a domestic violence incident with her boyfriend.
The GBI is handling the investigation.
