The unemployment rate for Baldwin, Greene, Hancock, Morgan and Putnam Counties fell to 4.4% in March. Down from 4.9% in February and 5.5% in January. A year ago, that number was around 11%.
As of March, there are 43,080 people working in the Lake Area. It was 42,870 in February and 42,444 in January, according Georgia Department of Labor data.
As of March, there are 1,974 unemployed people in the Lake Area. Down from 2,189 in February and 2,492 in January.
