The State of Georgia has paused the use of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine because of concerns about possible blood clots connected to the shot.

It comes after this guidance from the CDC and the FDA.

Here is the important information if you recently received the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine:

“People who have received the J&J vaccine who develop severe headache, abdominal pain, leg pain, or shortness of breath within three weeks after vaccination should contact their health care provider.”

As for the Lake Area, here is the guidance from our local health departments.

The North Central Health District, which includes Baldwin, Hancock and Putnam Counties, will be giving the Moderna vaccine for those already scheduled for a shot.

Here is the COVID-19 vaccine update from the Northeast Health District, which includes Greene and Morgan Counties.
