The Baldwin County School District is doing a clinic this Friday, which is a half-day of school. There will be a second day for employees on Saturday.
The Greene County School System began vaccinating employees on Tuesday with the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. Second doses will be done next month.
The Morgan County School System will be using the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine starting with a clinic Thursday and a second clinic next Tuesday.
The Putnam County School System has setup a clinic for next Tuesday. About 200 employees have already signed up.
So can school systems make teachers and staff take a COVID-19 vaccine?
Ryan Loke, one of Governor Brian Kemp’s key health policy advisors, says no.
“Because all three vaccine candidates are under emergency use authorization right now, there will be no mandating of vaccines.”
Teachers and staff in public and private schools become eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine this past Monday.
