Griffin first launched an exploratory committee back in June. Griffin tells me he made the jump into the race after talking to voters around the state.

Griffin served as the Lake Area’s State Senator from 1995 to 1999.

He was elected Milledgeville Mayor in 2001 and served one term.

In 2017, he retired as President and CEO of Slater’s Funeral Home in Milledgeville.
