A Lake Area law enforcement leader is helping the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office with the investigation of the murder of Elijah Wood. He was the convenience store clerk shot and killed at the RaceTrac on Macon Highway in March.
Morgan County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Keith Howard came up with a criminal profile of the murder based on his years of 27 experience at the GBI and Georgia Public Safety Training Center.
Two of Howard’s key points are 1) this was failed robbery that led to murder and 2) it does not look like a gang-related crime.
The reward for information lead to an arrest or arrests is $50,000.
Elijah Wood was 23 years old.
