344 of those have been in the Lake Area.
130 in Baldwin County, 67 in Hancock County, 65 in Putnam County, 57 in Greene County and 25 in Morgan County.
When you take population into account, Hancock County has had the highest death rate, at more than double any other Lake Area county.
31 have been over the age of 90, while one has been under the age of 18.
As for what is happening now, there were 15 COVID-19 deaths in August. 10 in Baldwin County, 4 in Putnam County and 1 in Greene County.
The Georgia Department of Public Health marked the sad milestone with this statement.
Less than half of Lake Area residents are fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
In Greene County, 8,659 residents are fully vaccinated or 50%.
In Hancock County, 3,511 residents are fully vaccinated or 41%
In Morgan County, 7,580 residents are fully vaccinated or 41%
In Putnam County, 8,231 residents are fully vaccinated or 38%
And in Baldwin County, 16,589 residents are fully vaccinated or 37%.
