Qualifying for the November 2nd city elections in the Lake Area has wrapped up.
In Milledgeville, Mayor Mary Parham-Copelan is running for a second term and nobody qualified to run against her.
As for the Milledgeville City Council, Torie Stewart is challenging incumbent Collinda Lee of District 1.
District 5 Councilman Richard “Boo” Mullins is being challenged by Jessica McQuain.
And in District 6, Steve Chambers is being challenged by Daisy Childs.
Nobody qualified to run against incumbent City Council members Jeanette Walden, Denese Shinholster and Water Reynolds.
There is one competitive race for Georgia Military College Board of Trustees between Alan Hale Wicker, Lataurien Lewis and William Kennedy.
In Greene County, Greensboro Mayor Glenn Wright has two challengers, Corey Williams and Randy Purdy. There are a number of challengers for City Council.
In Eatonton, Karen Henry-Garrett is challenging Councilwoman Janie B. Reid. Mylle Mangum has qualified. She is the wife of incumbent Bill Mangum.
Council Members Teresa Doster and James Gorley are running unopposed.
In Morgan County, no one filed to run against Madison Mayor Fred Perriman and Bostwick Mayor John Bostwick IV. In Rutledge, Allen Smith Is challenging Mayor Bruce Altznauer.
