Tuesday’s severe weather from what was left of Tropical Storm Fred included two tornadoes in the Lake Area.
The National Weather Service believes one tornado happened in Greene County around 6:25 a.m. It had an estimated 90 mile per hour winds and traveled 5 ½ miles from just west of Greensboro along Northwoods Drive, then along Lake Oconee before knocking down a bunch of trees along Arrowhead Road and Quail Trails. It ended in the area of Greenbriar Drive and Copelan Road.

A number of homes and cars were damaged by trees that had fallen. Some boathouses, outbuildings and sheds were destroyed by the tornado that cut a 100 yard wide path.
At same time, the National Weather Service believes there was another tornado in southwest Baldwin County.
The National Weather Service believes the tornado traveled about 2 miles near the Baldwin County-Jones County line.
Survey crews estimated peak winds at 75 miles per hour and that it was 150 yards wide.
They saw trees snapped along Union Hill Church Road near Kitchens Road and along County Line Road near Piney Woods Drive.
The National Weather Service radar showed debris in the air, which is believed to be parts of trees ripped from the ground.

No injuries were were reported for either tornado.
