Governor Brian Kemp Tuesday night issued an executive order declaring a state of emergency for 92 of Georgia’s 159 counties.

It covers most of south and southeastern Georgia, along with parts of central Georgia, including Baldwin, Hancock, Jones, Washington and Wilkinson Counties.

The executive order takes effect immediately and currently is set to expire next Wednesday night, July 14th.

The order does a number of things including put state agencies on standby to help with storm recovery efforts. It also activates rules against price gouging and suspends certain rules for truckers and their trucks to allow for any recovery efforts.

Elsa is expected bring showers to the Lake Area Wednesday evening into Thursday, but more severe effects are expected to the south and east of the Lake Area.
