Georgia’s highest court has upheld the murder convictions and life sentences for a father and son convicted of killing a Milledgeville man in 2008.
Mims Michael Morris Sr. and Mims Michael Morris Jr. were found guilty of kidnapping Earl Eugene Gill, while in Milledgeville, then beating him and dumping him in Putnam County. Gill eventually died in the hospital.
The third man convict in the crime, Roy Lee Bradshaw, died in prison.
During the 2009 trial, prosecutors said the men gave Gill $25 to buy marijuana. When Gill returned without the drugs, that is when the beating happened. Gill died after 11 days later.
59-year-old Morris Senior is at Calhoun State Prison in Southwest Georgia.
31-year-old Morris Junior is at Smith State Prison in Southeast Georgia.
