State leaders announce a major partnership Monday to bring high-speed fiber internet to 80,000 customers in 18 counties, including to parts of Morgan and Putnam Counties.

The agreement involves Central Georgia EMC, Southern Rivers Energy and high-speed internet company Conexon.

This includes nearly 6,767 Central Georgia EMC customers in Jasper (4,864), Jones (61), Morgan (1,698) and Putnam (144) Counties.
