With all 159 Georgia counties now reporting their certified results from the January U.S. Senate and Public Service Commission runoffs, we take a closer look at the numbers for the Lake Area.
Our race-to-race comparison involves the U.S. Senate runoff between now former U.S. Senator David Perdue and Senator-elect Jon Ossoff in Baldwin, Greene, Hancock, Morgan and Putnam Counties.
In terms of data, the two differences between the November general election and the January runoff were that there was no Libertarian candidate on the January ballot and write-ins were not allowed in January.
In the January runoff, Jon Ossoff was able to reach 97% of his November vote total in the Lake Area. In January, David Perdue reached 93% of his November vote total.
Baldwin County was notable as Jon Ossoff won in the county in January, while David Perdue won in November.
