The rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine in Georgia is picking up speed as Lake Area stores and hospitals are now offering limited appointments to eligible people.

Eligible people include those 65 and older.

The grocery store pharmacies include Ingles in Madison, Kroger in Milledgeville and Publix in Greensboro are offering COVID-19 vaccine appointments.

HOSPITALS

Navicent Health is booking vaccine appointments at CovidsafeGA.org

Putnam General Hospital is booking appointments at their vaccine hotline, 706-923-2052

HEALTH DEPARTMENTS

The North Central Health District, which includes Baldwin, Hancock and Putnam Counties, is registering people by phone at 1-844-987-0099. As of today (January 15), NCHD is booked through January 23rd and is waiting for more vaccine supply.

The Northeast Health District, which includes Greene and Morgan Counties, is registering eligible people at https://bit.ly/3n7fnVS. You will get a call back.

The Morgan County Health Department will be offering COVID-19 vaccines on Mondays, by appointment.

Priority will be given to those who have already registered. They will get a phone call to schedule an appointment.

If you have not registered for a vaccine yet, you can call the Morgan County Health Department at 706-752-1266.

IMPORTANT NOTE: There is very high demand for the vaccine and a small supply, which means there are few appointments. New appointments are opening up as health departments, stores and hospitals get new supplies.

ANOTHER IMPORTANT NOTE: You have to fit the Phase 1A+ criteria to get the vaccine. That includes people 65 and older.
