Health Departments Receive Thousands of Calls for COVID-19 Vaccine

The State of Georgia continues to struggle with the rollout of COVID-19 vaccine.
Monday was officially the first day people 65 and older were eligible to get the vaccine.
The North Central Health District began scheduling through their COVID-19 hotline.
That phone line received 50,000 calls in the first two hours it was open Monday.
By the end of the day, 1,032 appointments were made for the 13-county district that includes Baldwin, Hancock and Putnam Counties.
A spokesman with the health department is asking for patience as they try to answer calls.
