Lake Area Health Departments Scheduling COVID-19 Vaccines for 65 and Older

The North Central Health District is expanding who can get the COVID-19 vaccine to include people 65 and older.

The District will start scheduling those appointments today. Appointments are required.

The phone number to schedule a vaccine appointment is 1-844-987-0099. Do not call your local health department.

Vaccination appointments will be done Monday through Saturday at drive-thru locations.

The 13-county district, which includes Baldwin, Hancock, Jones, Putnam, Washington and Wilkinson Counties, will begin scheduling those vaccines on Monday.

This morning, the Baldwin County Health Department posted this about the volume of calls they are getting.

The Northeast Health District is registering people eligible for the vaccine at https://bit.ly/NEHDNonHealthcareVaccine. You can also call 706-340-0996, but expect the phone lines to be busy.

Northeast Health District covers 10 counties including Greene, Morgan, Oconee, Oglethorpe and Walton.

ECHD includes Taliaferro, Warren & Wilkes Counties.

Here is who is eligible under Phase 1A+ rules, as of today.

  • Healthcare providers 
    • This group includes paid and unpaid people serving in a healthcare setting who have the potential for direct exposure to patients or infectious materials and includes, but is no limited to: physicians, nurses, dentists, laboratory workers, environmental services, EMS, fire department that provides health services, etc. 
  • Employees and residents of long-term care facilities 
  • Adults age 65+ and their caregivers (caregivers as applicable) 
  • Law enforcement, fire personnel (including volunteer fire departments), dispatchers and 911 operators
